Dr. Adam G. Dale
Dr. Adam Dale is the turfgrass entomology extension specialist for the state of Florida. Dr. Dale researches economically important pests of turfgrass with the goal of developing more ecologically-oriented and sustainable pest management strategies. His research program is broadly interested in the ecology of insects in turfgrass systems. Exploring the interactions between insects, plants, and their environment is informative and can provide insight into what most strongly regulates the abundance of pests and the damage they inflict.
Dr. Dale's extension program disseminates the results of his research program along with the most up-to-date information on turfgrass insect management. He uses multiple outlets to reach as many individuals in the landscape and golf industries as possible. Follow his website (adamgdale.org) and twitter (@adamgdale) for updates on pest activity or management recommendations. Dr. Dale also updates the UF/IFAS EDIS system (http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/) with insect pest management information, gives extension presentations and publishes articles in trade magazines. Through his research and extension programs, he hopes to generate more sustainable, ecologically based management strategies that benefit the environment as well as the turf industry.
